Twitter

Twitter is a site that allows people to instantly post a "tweet." It's similar to instant messaging in which people can quickly post their response to other people's post. Many celebrities these days are using twitter to communicate with their fans. Also, people can subscribe to a specific person or group and become a "follower" of their tweets and get constant updates of new postings.
I think this application is growing in popularity not only among the teens but other organizations such as new stations (and of course CPL) are using this to publicize their information to the public.

LibraryThing

I remember some customers actually bringing this up to me one time, but I never got the chance to actually look into it. After exploring the site, I see many practical applications for LibraryThing. It works great at home or at work. People can easily keep track of what they have read, look at reviews and see recommended books in one site!
I think I will start using this site...as a matter of fact I already signed up for an account and added a few of my novels that I have read in the past.
One more thing....I like how they show the cover of the novels. It really helps when I'm trying to locate a novel but don't remember the title.

Online Productivity Tools

As mentioned before in one of my postings, Google Docs is a very user-friendly product.

In the future I don't see free online tools replacing the more expensive software. The free tools online have limited abilities, and in order for people to do more than just simple tasks, we will need to purchase the full software.

Flickr/Youtube

The quality of the pictures from Flickr are magnificent! There are a variety of photos for me to browse through when I searched up 'flowers'. Here are some of the examples:

On the other hand, the quality of some of the videos on Youtube are lacking. Majority of them are great, just some of them are hard to see when you view in full screen mode. However, there are great entertainment values. I can see myself spending hours on youtube looking through all the various videos.

RSS

I was able to successfully set up my RSS feed. It was very simple and it didn't require any additional information, other than an E-mail address. It's useful if I like to keep current with certain sites. However, it's probably something that I wouldn't use often, since I only check stuff online when I need to.

Google Docs Review

Google docs is similar to what most people are use to...Microsoft Word. It has the simple editing features such as fonts, alignments, and formating features that we are mostly familiar with. It allows for quick changes to previously saved documents and works great with group collaboration projects.

The best feature about this program is that it also has an auto-save function. So in times where your computer crashes, you can always retrieve for it back in the E-mail. This program runs smoothly on a Windows PC or a Mac. No lag times!

The only draw back is that it has limited functions. But all in all...it's still a great product!

I would truely recommend this product!

Google Universe

I especially like the Google Docs product. I remember when I was in school and we had a group project for this research paper. We all collaborated on it through google document! It was handy and fast. It works great for people who don't have Microsoft Office 2007 and can't open the 'docx' files, they are still able to open their files with just an easy click away!

There's not a particular product that I dislike from Google. I think they all serve their purpose and function. If someone is looking for something more advance or with more function, then they can look elsewhere. As for a quick and easy access from the internet, without installing any programs, Google products are worth the try!

Social Networking

The popularity of social networking sites is due to the increase usage of electronic communication. People may find it easier to communicate messages without face-to-face contact. Also, it appeals to the younger generation as a fast and easy way to let others know what is happening in their life.
The main appeal factors include photo sharing, status updates and the 'wall post'. People can easily tag themselves in photos and share it with other friends. Also, through invites they can become aware of various events that their friends or school are hosting.

Okonomiyaki (お好み焼き)

This is a delicious Japanese pancake that consists of meat, cabbage, noodles, and onions all fried up with batter. Then a sweet sauce is drizzled over the top along with some mayo dressing.
I absolutely love this item! 大好きだよ

Wikipedia

The process of looking for an article that needed editing was pretty time consuming. The articles that I have looked up seem consistent with my knowledge (Okonomiyaki and Japanese Language).
However I did follow up on trying to edit a page. The steps are very simple and straight forward. Thus, it reiterates the fact Wikipedia is not a site that I would rely on for research. However, it can be a site in which the information can be reinforced.

Delicious

After familiarizing myself with delicious.com I find that it's a pretty interesting site with lots of information. One of the advantages of this site is how all results are related to your topic of interest. It's not like Google, where everything comes up... With Delicious, people are the ones tagging and sharing the information. Unlike Google which just displays a million hits of results that contains certain keywords of interests.
I also like the "tag cloud." It's nice to just browse around on stuff when you're just bored! The one disadvantage of this search is that there is limited information.
If people don't tag or share the information, the database for that specific topic will be very limited.

Journey with CPL 2.0

The aspect of Web 2.0 that I am most intrigued about is Wikipedia. I have always known that one can manipulate the pages. However, I have not actually done it myself. So, it'll be interesting to actually perform changes.
